Fail Forward
We often go through life and feel as though failure is something that is terrible. I’m here to tell you, that it is everything but that.
Failing is a horrible word we have attached to not succeeding at something we have tried. Michael Jordan says it best, “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
Failure, in my mind, should be thought of as a blessing; an opportunity to grow, learn and improve. Think about what happens when we fatigue our muscles until FAILURE. They rebuild themselves and grow stronger and bigger. That is the exact same way we should think of it in regards to our lives. Each time we “fail” at something, we learn from it and figure out how we can improve, so that we grow stronger and better.
Next time you fail at our job, fail in a relationship, fail a test or fail to ourselves, think about what you learned from it and use that experience to grow into a stronger, better version of yourself.
