So you’re feeling down and out, huh? Hey, I get it. We’ve all been there.
Rather than feeling sorry for yourself and allowing your emotions to get the best of you, there’s a few simple-yet-effective things you can to do go from negative to positive, stop the struggle, and beat those blues!
1. Let’s start with old faithful here: Hit The Gym
C’mon. I’m a personal trainer and a life transformer. What’d you expect me to say? Plus, I have science in my corner. When you need a jolt of positivity, start sweating!
Exercise releases feel-good hormones known as endorphins that are proven to boost your mood (#Science). This is why you feel like you can conquer the world after a killer sweat session.
Run, jump, hop, skip, sprint, lift… any form of fitness will do the trick.
2. Toss On Some Motivating Music
It’s not just your ears that music impacts. You see, what goes in your ears travels through your brain, body, spirit, and soul. Thus, a little melody can have a huge impact on everything from mindset to emotions.
So, what are you waiting for? Start pressing play on your favorite tunes and watch what happens.
Don’t sleep on the magic of music.
3. Talk It Out With A Mentor
All that built-up negativity is toxic to your mind and it needs to be released. A quick vent session can work wonders, so pick up the phone and meet with a mentor.
No mentor? No problem. Bend the ear of someone you trust.
A quick conversation can go a long way.
4. Positive Self-Talk
Talking to others isn’t the only way to solve the struggle. You need to audit how you’re speaking to yourself.
Imagine the thoughts bouncing around your brain are your fuel (they are :)). Positive thoughts paired with positive self-talk can propel you to new heights. Negative thoughts and negative self-talk can get you down in an instant. Here’s the best part: Only you can control your thoughts and your self-talk. So, make ‘em positive!
Fuel up on positivity — it will drown out the negativity.
If I had to guess, you’re probably feeling better already! You now know what to do when you’re down in the dumps. Stay positive!
