You know often times in life, we cause ourselves a lot of stress from thinking too much about the past. Whether it’s 2 days ago, 2 weeks ago, 2 years ago.. we get just so upset and emotional about things we did in the past and about how our life WAS.
One thing you need to remember is your past doesn’t define who you are. It strengthens you and gets you prepared for the future and your life. You can never ever change the past; you can’t go back in time. You have to keep that in mind.
And one other thing people get stressed about is their future. “Oh my gosh.. what’s going to happen in my life 2 days from now.. 2 weeks.. 2 years…. “ And you know there are 2 things I believe are true:
- You can’t change the past; and
- You can’t predict the future. You can prepare for the future but you can’t predict it.
So my challenge to everyone, is to live for today. Treat each day as a new life. When you open your eyes in the morning, that’s a new life. Make sure you live each days as your best day and if/when tomorrow comes, you’re prepared for it.
People get so upset and stressed out about the past which they can’t change and, also, the future which they can’t control. So you just have to learn to stay in the present, today, and do what you can to make today the best day possible.
Remember how far you’ve come and not necessarily how far you have to go.
